As the title says, we are going to cruise around the world in 100 days on the Sea Princess, departing Sydney on Friday 22 May and disembarking in Auckland on 31 August. Unfortunately we have one flight from Auckland to Sydney to start the cruise, but at least we simply get off the ship and head home (well more or less - we'll be going to Fiona & Richard's to get the car first - detail, detail).

We have already visited many of the ports up through the Middle East and the Mediterranean, but it will be great to have a more relaxed time - having already done the main attractions. We'll have another go at visiting Petra, but with the Middle East still a little unsettled, who knows?
Our friends, Maureen & Wyn, from Algies Bay, join us on the second leg from Southampton and we have sort of sorted out most of our activities on the way home. However they will not be joining us on the 3 day excursion to Machu Picchu - Peru. This is a bit of a highlight and I spent about 5 months, twice a day waiting for the excursions to come up on the Princess site. Just as well as they were sold out in under 2 days. An advantage of living in NZ is that we have a couple of hours advantage over the Aussies!
While we have not sailed on the Sea Princess before, we have been on both her sister ships - the Sun Princess & most recently the Dawn Princess, so no surprise's in store. Once again we have selected an Aft cabin and for a change on the Port side. I know that we should be Starboard "home" but at least we will be on the better side going through the Suez ☺ Our cabin is B702, if anyone wants to look it up. It is somewhat similar to the cabin we had on the Dawn last year and if handy to the elev... I mean stairs and they are less crowded than the set more mid-ship. We also know that a mile is 3 times around the Promenade Deck (Deck 7), so we should have walked at least 100 miles by the time we get home.
